Article Publication Charge (APC) Policy

Starting 1 October 2026, Journal of Clinical Trials and Experimental Investigations operates fully as an Open Access (OA) journal. To support our commitment to making high-quality scientific research freely accessible worldwide, all articles published in the journal are funded by Article Publication Charges (APCs).

1. Applicability & Effective Date

  • Submissions received before September 1, 2026: Published under the previous model (no standard APC applies).

  • Submissions received on or after September 1, 2026: Subject to the standard APC if accepted for publication following rigorous peer review.

2. Standard Publication Fee

  • The standard APC for accepted manuscripts $700 USD ($600 USD for low- and lower-middle-income countries)

  • Note: There are no submission fees, page charges, or color figure charges. Authors are only billed if their manuscript is formally accepted for publication.

3. Waivers and Discounts

We believe that lack of funds should not be a barrier to publishing high-quality research. The journal offers a comprehensive waiver and discount policy:

  • Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Automatic or partial APC waivers are available for corresponding authors based in low- and lower-middle-income countries (following Research4Life categories).

  • Editorial Board Members & Reviewers: Active editorial board members and frequent reviewers may be eligible for service-based discounts.

  • Hardship Requests: Authors experiencing genuine financial hardship who lack institutional or grant funding may apply for a special waiver during the submission process. Requests must be submitted before formal acceptance.

4. Payment Process

  • Once a manuscript receives final acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an invoice along with secure online payment instructions.

  • Payment must be completed prior to final publication.
